Could someone explain the differences between the trowels please. There are square notched and rounded ones in different sizes. Is it just personal preference or is there a specific reason for the different types?
Have you checked the sticky, or used the search - might be of use?
I am not certain of sizes, but basically the large half circle trowels are for floor tiles and/or large/thick size tiles. Because of the depth of the notch in the trowel it leaves a larger amount of adhesive.
The smaller notched (square) trowel is for smaller/thinner tiles.
I believe there is even a very small one that is used for mosaics.
