The other good idea is the pull string dimmer.
Badly done though, it spoils the operation of the shaver socket, unless on full brightness, you gat a vari-speed shave. Good for upsetting visitors.

If experience has taught me one thing (and that's pretty much all it has), you shouldn't switch your fan separately to the bathroom lights anyway. Us hairy-a**** men may not care, but the ladies get a bit sensitive about advertising to the world whether they are paying a 'fan-on' or a 'fan-off' visit.
