I bought and had fitted by a qualified electrician a dimmer switch and light fitting. It worked for several weeks but has now stopped. Recalled the electrician who showed me the light fitting with burnt wiring. He cut off the damaged wiring and reconnected the fitting - hooray - it worked for five days. There is an obvious problem. I simply cannot afford all this what do you suggest. Thank you

Was the burnt wiring to do with his workmanship or was it to do with the actual light itself, it seems a bit harsh if hes charging you to come back again
Hi, thank you for your reply. I have no idea if the burnt wires were attributable to his workmanship. I have read about transformers etc but have no idea if that is the answer. If i buy a fitting with one bulb will it work? I am very keen to have a dimmer. Being disabled it suits my needs
