Hi,
We’ve had a 3 way dimmer switch put in our kitchen.
2 of the switches work fine, the other one which controls the spotlights works intermittently.
The electrician who installed has changed the switch for a new one. But within a few weeks it won’t turn the spots on again.

There is another switch (non dimmer) over the other side of the room which will turn the spots on, and when they’re on they can be dimmed or brightened using the dimmer switch. It just doesn’t work when trying to turn them on….
Has anyone got any ideas what could be causing this?
Thanks

sould like they're not wired correctly, are you able to post the back of them showing the wiring on both switches

….or the dimmer is not compatible with the lamps. Did you recently put new bulbs in, perhaps changing from old-school bulbs to LED?

Hi,
I’ll try and get a photo tomorrow.

No, the lights have only been up 2 years and it’s always been super temperamental. It’s only now it’s completely stopped.

Just wondering... is it possible that the dimmer module requires a greater load. That is to say that the total wattage of the lights is lower than the min rating of the module?
