Hi

I have a twin dimmer switch which run 9 GU10 halogen lamps (I think that's the name of the lamps).

I replaced those bulbs with GU10 LED type ones (similar watts) and now they flicker!

Have a brought the wrong type?
Could the LED's be faulty ?

Any help appreciated.
Thanks

What wattage are the the new lamps and what's thje wattage of the dimmer?

Are the LED lamps dimmable? Should say on the packet.

Very likely that your dimmer switch, cannot deal with the reduced output of the LED lamps. Also check if they are dimmable.

The LED's are dimmable for sure.

I brought similar watt LED's as the original halogen lamps, can't remember what they are.

I'm not sure what the wattage of the dimmer switch is. Will it tell me behind the switch plate?

Thanks

If you say so. Many are not dimmer-able

I very much doubt that. Halogen lamps are 35 or 50 watts. LED lamps are about a tenth of that figure. You need to check for certain or we will all be wasting our time tring to help you

Yes, usually it is on the dimmer. Please turn off the power before you go removing the dimmer plate.

It will probably say something like 60-400Watts
