Hi,

My Diplomat 8322 washing machine is playing up. It started beeping and will not begin a programme. Seems to be stuck on rinse mode, beeps continuously when the door is closed and the drain hole is full of water. Can it be economically repaired or is it destined for the scrapyard? It has only been used for 12 months so v annoying.

Any help greatly appreciated

thanks

When it's beeping, open the door and look at the start light. It will be flashing, count the flashes between pauses and let us know the result.

4 flashes is a draining failure.
Check the drain hose for blockage/kinking.
If that appears to be ok, lower the drain hose to a bowl on the floor, if it drains you're looking at a blockage in the pump or a faulty pump.
Pump is accessed from the front panel at the bottom of the machine, 4 torx screws hold it in place. The pump is a twist fit with a plastic lock. Don't break the lock when you remove the pump.
Fairly easy repair.
Not a cheap appliance to replace, fully integrated and probably mid to high end range.
Most blockages are caused by food or debris getting into the system.
If you rinse stuff before putting it in and never allow foodstuff into it you'll go a long way to avoiding problems.
