Diplomat ADP8902 dishwasher stuck in drain cycle

Several times over the last 2 years it stopped mid-cycle. Switching off and on would usually restart it. Now it's stuck with LEDs 2&3 flashing with 5 on. The booklet says this is a drainage problem. All filters look clean. I tipped it on its side to take this photo and all seems dry. Apart from the plastic semi-transparent bottle thingy which I assume is a water filter unit. This, as the photo shows, is nearly filled with water. Could this be the problem? If so, how do I open/drain it?
