I have a diplomat select 710 double oven. The main fan oven isn't working properly - it doesn't seem to get as hot as normal.

Have looked inside while it is on and it looks as if the fan has stopped spinning as it isn't rotating at all and should come on straight away when the oven is turned on?

Could this be that the motor for the fan has stopped working or could it be a problem with the thermostat? I cane hear the thermostat click if I adjust the temperature dial so assume this is OK?

Any other ideas?

Thanks

Chris

I have a diplomat select 710 double oven. The main fan oven isn't working properly - it doesn't seem to get as hot as normal.

Is there still some heat then? if so, element and thermostat probably both fine (Elements giving out heat as it should, and thats because the thermostats telling it too). My guess is the motors burnt out, or capacitors gone. When the fan doesnt turn it cant spread the heat from the element.

Get sorted out asap, broken fan can cause element to overheat and then youll need one of them too!!!

Thanks I checked the heating element and that was fine - glowing bright red and no sign of splitting - the oven does heat up just not as hot as normal - as you say if the fan isn't spinning it won't distribute the heat around - have ordered a new fan motor.

Will use top (fanless) oven in meantime.

Thanks

Got home tonight (having ordered a new fan this morning) only to find that the fan is now working!!!

Can anyone explain that? Don't understand how it can have fixed itself - it wasn't working at all yesterday??!!!
