Just had a leaflet through letterbox from Direct Window Company. We need couple of windows and their prices seem good eg6x3 = £185 They mention A - rated ' as standard ' which apparently keeps the warmth in...what's this ?

A rated windows are top performing energy efficient windows - the company are in no way exclusive because any decent company should offer A rated windows these days
The thing you need to be aware of with energy rating windows is there are still a few problems with some extrusions making A rated. to get to the rating it has meant removing some reinforcing making the windows more liable to movement or warping. 'B' and 'C' still have to meet good levels so make sure to reach the 'A' rating you are not sacrificing the integral strength and structure of the windows.
