About to tile my roof with plain tiles. Got all the reclaimed tiles, valleys, arris hips, ridges. Very pleased with the match.

But, tile and a half are hard to get and bloody expensive. I needs loads too with 3 valleys, a hip and a gable end. My thoughts are going with something new like Marley acme double camber antique and trying to dirty them up. My tiles are fairly rough surfaced and originally dark red, but now very sooty looking.

Any ideas how to dirty them up?

Also, when doing valleys and hips, is there a rule of thumb how many tile and a half’s are needed? Every course? Every other course?

Spray them with " Liquid weather " it does work - I used it on a small bay that stuck out like a sore thumb.;)
