Hi , when fitting a switched fuse unit in a long meter tail run , with a 100A 1361 and a 100A main in the CU , would you fit a 80A switchfuse to allow for discrimination. Thanks

discrimination, maybe, but not diversity.

And the 100A mainswitch in the CU will never trip. Its a mainswitch not a MCB.

i suppose my question is that, would you do it as a matter of course as long as the max demand is ok
 
You'd have to check the specs for both the fuses, if the energy let through I²t of the 80A fuse exceeds the pre-arcing energy of the 100A fuse for the fault level where they are installed then it wont discriminate.
