My daughter has a dishwasher she wants plumbing in, however it is around the corner to washing machine and there is a central heating unit between two which is unused, but limits what can be fixed to the wall.

Water in simple Y connector will do, but will need extra long hose or connector, but not any real problem. It is waste water out which is more of a problem. She has a glued 40 mm pipe, which ends with an up section to which the washing machine pipe simply hooks in, I could cut and extend around two corners to dish washer, but would still be a stretch for the waste hose.

So a washing machine drain out kit would it seems fit the existing pipe, so question is can I simply get an extension on the waste pipe and not bother with any non flexible pipe?

Question is I suppose will a dish washer sense extra resistance to flow and cut out.

She is not intending to stop in the house long, so don't want to do more that required.

Seeing that you can have both a washing machine and a dishwasher connected under a kitchen sink to the same waste trap I would extend the solvent weld 40mm pipe to the dishwasher with an upstand kit at the end. Just make sure it has a good fall on the pipe to the drains.
