dishwasher leaking

Does any1 know why my dishwasher leaks? When it fills up, the water level in the plastic side panel (regeneration unit?) reaches a hole and flows onto my floor. The fill up cycle seems to happen in 3 stages and its only the 3rd cycle that leaks. I can't see how to adjust the microswitch, which appears to be working fine i.e. when the float raises the switch cuts off the solenoid valve.

Should my plastic side panel have a hole in it? I have a Hotpoint First Edition.

if it is under 1 year old hotpoint will fix it F.O.C.

If not yhry will charge you, but you could alwasys ring them up and ask about the hole
