Hi I have a DeDietrich dishwasher.

It leaked last Friday and since then will not start.

To be precise if you power off completely then turn it back on again. It starts the cycle for 3-4 secs and then stops.

There is no water in the dishwasher. I have removed the filters and cleaned what I could. Water supply is good and on.

As its built in is there anything else I could try before getting a specialist out?

Any suggestions gratefully recieved.

Thanks

Pete

Did you get an answer on this? I have exactly the same symptom. I assume it is a safety cut-out.

Check for water in the base of the machine, not the part you put your dishes in.

If that has water in most dishwashers have some form of flood protection (make sure you turn machine off first) which prevents it from continuing with a cycle.

Many thanks. I thought of that since the machine has been transported on its back and some water has drained out which could have filled the flood tray.
I have tipped the machine forward to 45° in the hope it would clear the flood tray but the symptom persists. I wonder whether the float (some machines have one) has got stuck in the raised position even though no water is present.

I had a similar problem a few years back ...check the solonoid at the back where the water hose goes onto.

Mine was not opening hence no water in the machine so it would cut out after a minute or so

Thanks. I don't think it is the solenoid - you say it cuts out after a 'minute.' Are you being literal? My cut-out is after 3 seconds - it would be nice to be able to identify the fault from the cut-out delay. I have a feeling that the cut-out from no water is quite slow.
