Hi All

I’m planning on fitting a dishwasher over the next week or so and keen to know which contraption I need in order to plumb in the waste outlet.

With so many options I’m keen to avoid over engineering something which is probably not needed and can be done for less than a tenner!

Attached is an under sink photo, any help would be appreciated.

Here is ours. Been fine for years. Bought kit and fitted to the waste pipe where it goes out wall. Not sure I'm helping but as you say. Options.. Just pick one that will work for you

Thanks for the responses all, seems fairly straightforward.

In @Wayners photo it seems that the dishwasher waste is not going through a trap (U-bend). That means you could get sewer smells coming up through the dishwasher.

How do you find that grey pipework? I had some but found it poor quality e.g. threads mis-threading, leaks etc. If you have similar issues you might consider replacing it with a complete new set of e.g. McAlpine parts while you’re at it.

How is your existing washing machine connected?

Hi All,

Scratching my head with this. I have got this far - and have 2 options (see photos below). Which is easiest resolved and what would I need to buy to resolve?!

No smell. I think the waste pipe don't completely empty so that acts as a trap.
Works for us. You are correct though
