Can someone please advise me on the correct way to dispose of used central heating fluid after draining down? I have to choose between septic tank, soakaway or taking it to the recycling centre. Your FAQs cover draining down but not disposal!
Soakaway would probably be fine, the main issue would be whether the inhibitor would be damaging. Septic tank would be the safe option but I'm guessing it'd cost to empty.
Otherwise put it in a big tank and wait for it to evaporate
If you search for the Fernox F1 safety data sheet it has lots of info, but I think it's mostly describing what to do with thr undiluted product e.g. if a lorry overturns and spills it onto a road.
Thanks to all for your views. In the end it went into my 2 cubic metre soakaway, well down out of harm's way and nowhere near a watercourse. (oops - that was autocorrected to "intercourse"!
