Hello guys..I'm a quallified sparky, but have limited knowledge, with wiring identity with heating controls..Here is my problem..I have a six wire diverter valve on my system, thinks its on a "C" type installation. The valve is sticking on the hot water position, when I flick the sync motor,it closes,on springs return...I have been given a 5 wire diverter valve, which is minus the brown core...How do I connect it up..? I have identified all core colours at the terminal block...Is it simple answer, appreciate any help thanks.

What is the exact model of the current valve and what is the exact model of the valve you want to replace it with.

There are loads of different types with different functions.

Go to Honeywell website, they have all the different wiring diagrams ready to download. Should be easy enough for you when you know what goes where, not too difficult, even plumbers can do it.

Right...The one that is on is a Honeywell V4073A10952..Diverter Valve..the replacement I have is an Ikon type MA1 mid position actuator valve..Thanks John.

Have compared the two wiring plans, appears that the brown core is not used on the Y plan. But on the C plan it's shown as the sync motor feed..?
