Hi,

I'm looking for a recommendation for a DIY alarm system. My wishlist is not particuarly extensive - easily programmable (wintex?), 1 x remote, proximity tags (maybe)....I think that's pretty much it. I will probably have no more than 5 or 6 zones.....

As always, advice appreciated....

If its for DIY then you won't get insurance approval as it would be non NSI installed.

So why not fit a Yale system instead.

Extremely reliable , easy to source , easy to install

Why make things difficult for yourself?

ive recently fitted a few Optima G4 alarm panels & they are very easy to fit. You can get L.E.D model or a LCD display one, depending on what u require. Also upto 8 zones, tamper , personel attack conn. Good price from electric base.

Not really bothered about insurance approval.....

Any reason to choose Yale over, say, Texecom?

Price and ease of installation and if you look at the number of problems listed on this website probably reliability too.

This is a DIY website and Yale is DIY kit.
