DIY Driveway

Hi all

We are laying our own driveway and at present, with the help of a spade, dug 30cm deep. We intend to put block paving down. However we feel maybe that we have dug far too deep. Should we fill with Type 1 only, fill with hardcore and type 1, fill with concrete and hardcore or just fill with concrete?

Basically I would like to know what is our cheapest option? We do have hardcore knocking around from a wall

Or should we use another type of base such as scalpings

Any suggestions, much appreciated

Sounds like you have gone a little too deep, but not the end of the world as you can infill.
