DNO

It means a company that owns the wires in the street

I'm talking to my audience

In a previous life, I was working next to a building that had been a coal-fired generating station, and had been Ipswich's original electricity company long before. When the road was dug up, they found big steel wires, laid in oak troughs filled with pitch

Some of my colleagues had had long and varied careers, working for an Electricity Board, a REC, a PES and a DNO, sometimes without even changing jobs.

I don't believe there is anyone on this forum who doesn't know what is meant by "Light Bulb"

err, Lamp?
