I have two fans at home

One is an Icon with pir and humidistat the other is a manrose with pir only.

Both kick in at random as and when they feel like it

The manrose is upstairs so i can hear it chugg away with it's crap beaings.

Why?

Am getting grief- like it's my fault...

Is this common? BTW no spiders etc

Thanks in advance

Are they built in pirs or seperate if seperate it should be possible to adjust the sensitivity so that moths & things don't set them off. But they are nortoriously unreliable anyway so may have failed, you would probably be better to swop them for pull switches.

Hi JJ

They are both built in PIRs

I cannot see anything in the room that is tripping them.

Sometimes waving at the Manrose will cuase it to stop after the 1 minute runover.

I didn't know that they have a bad rep but I don't want pull cords because people don't pull them.

Thanks

PIR's work on infrared, they are not pointing towards windows or anything are they? I seem to remember reading that can cause false detections.

Both are on the only external wall in each room. To the right of the recessed windows.

Thanks
