Do I get rid of this valve before tiling?

Following from my previous thread, I need to tile the floor in the pictures which have been raised to the same level of the rest of the house; there was a step down before.
The pipes in the picture were boxed in but now, being below new screed I would prefer to tile all over (a cement board to bridge them will go in)
On inspection I found this service valve on one of the heating pipes.
In my opinion there's no reason for it to be there, or is it?
The pipe goes to the thermostatic side of the towel radiator.
Now, to get rid of it would be a bit of a mission because there's little room for manoeuvre, roughly 12mm play.
It's been there 20 years and doesn't leak.
Can I leave it there?
Thanks

How do I solder a piece in if I have no room to move the pipes?
I don't know if i'll be able to slide a coupler in.

Just wanted to thank opps and CBW.
This is the end result.
Took me longer to cut those pipes in such restricted place than anything else.
Fortunately there was just enough room for the pipe cutter to be twisted around.
Thanks!

Looks good, but it was @terryplumb who said use slip couplers ;)
