I need to ask a general query with regards to the garden renovation we’re doing. We had our lawn levelled with the hope of building sleeper planters down the side of the garden as our soil is clay. Not thinking, to level the lawn we had to dig down from the highest point about 400mm but with the rain last night in Edinburgh, this morning it has highlighted areas of pooling on where the digger has been. Conscious of the water just now, is it best to try and build a small soak away. Our plan would be to lay artificial grass (circa 3.5m x 4.5m) after we have laid on top of the current area a sub base
