DO I NEED A SPECIAL TOOL

Hello to you all, i am hoping someone can help me. I want to change my bath taps, but i can not reach the fitting on the hot water tap with a spanner to undo it, do i need a special tool, if it was a car part i would use a socket set, but on this i cant get anything like that on it, so what do i use and were do i get it from, thanks in advance
