Do I need SP101 Plywood if using self levelling compound?

Hello

I want to lay Water resistant Click LVT in my Kitchen and Utility Room in one go.
The Kitchen has Floorboards and imperfections which will be addressed.

The Utility Room floor has just been raised (Floating) with Insulation and a 22mm joint Floor. This Floor is approx. 9mm under the Floorboards in the Kitchen, so I will lay 9mm Plywood to match.

I then intend on laying 6mm Ply throughout as a subfloor, then self levelling compound on top before laying LVT click flooring.

I see many threads and wholesalers specifically mentioning SP101 is the required Plywood. Seeing as I'm putting Levelling Compound over with a suita le SBR, is Class 2 Plywood suitable?

I've used regular Plywood in the past with no issues for Tiles. This SP101, albeit better properties, seems overkill and price is high. Do I actually need it for my installation method?

Technically you don't need SP101 but personally from experience it's a big risk that's probably not worth the relative extra cost.

The biggest issue you have is speccing click LVT, it's a nightmare, even with the 'right' subfloor prep. We have had jobs fail on perfect subfloors due to the manufacturer claiming too much weight (a washing machine) being on the floor in the kitchen!

If you are going to the extent of preparing properly, go with a glue down LVT and be assured that you won't have any issues so commonly associated with the Click LVT's.

For me all we use is sp101 if going over with adhesive or a screeding compound
EN 314-2 class 3 Exterior.
