Do I need to add a fuse to fix this cowboy job?

I looked at these 1788879813098.pngand one of these RCD tester ramp.jpg and it seemed actually cheaper to get the second option, which in fact, failed to give a good loop impedance reading. The RCD test was A1 but not the loop impedance test.

So we are looking at around £100 to buy or hire equipment to test the installation, and it seems likely it would cost less to employ an electrician to do the testing.

I have not seen @winston for a long time, same as @ban-all-sheds not sure why any reference to either, except they both tended to read the regulations to say what they wanted it to say.

But with any conflict, what you want, is the person putting forward your point of view to be higher qualified to the one you think got it wrong, however it has been pointed out many times, my Fdeng in many ways behind my name does not show I know any more than someone who has passed their C&G 2391, I have also passed that, but that does not give me letters behind my name.

And this is the point, until we exceed level 3, qualifications are not shown by letters behind your name, so a first year apprentice seems the same as someone with 50 years experience.

But with this case, (not any similar cases) the adding of a fan is hardly going to overload a circuit, even if technically wrong, so how pedantic should we be?

It seems unlikely the fan will cause a problem, but technically it should not be fed from a spur. It would not worry me, but it does not comply.
 
If you didn't know, why would you have advised that the fan could be connected as you did?

I no longer wish to have ridiculous conversations with you like this.
