I need to change some pipework in my loft. To do this, I will have to move some loft insulation around to get good access.

I don't know what its made of, its the yellow/beige fibreous stuff. There's lots of it!

Is it safe to work with? What precautions do I need to take?

Dustmask, gloves and light. Mind where you stand - some boarding for the floor might be useful.

I think the small fibres get in your pores.
Wear long sleeves and have a stone cold shower afterwards and it keeps your pores closed.
