Do I need to put primer on this door

Do I need to put primer on the first door below or will undercoat be ok (new door)?

The second door has already been painted , would I be better using oil based paint than water?

Not quite understanding the last post.. The edges of the door in the first image need primer. The rest of the door is pre-primed.

Apropos oil based water based finishes. I am not a fan of them. I personally cannot achieve the same quality of finish with OB paints.

U prefer waterbased?

I've been smoothing the caulk with my finger in gloves dipping it in water then using a damp cloth to clean anything off wall. I guess that will work?
