i am going to install a upvc window in my living room and i just wanted to know do you need to toe and heel a top hung window opener or is toe and heel only for side openers? Also when i fit the glass does it matter which way the glass goes in or is there a inside and outside way and if there is how can you tell which is inside or outside? Thanks in advance .

there should be a sticker on the glass telling you which way round.

I cant see any benefit to heel and toe, just make sure you get the right spacers on the bottom and equal gap around sides

Yes on the 1 of the glass there is a sticker "k glass face inwards" but on the other glass there isnt the same sticker there is sticker to say the customers name and adress but doesnt say which way to face the glass. Also do u have to use bridging packers at the bottom or can i use ordinary cloloured plastic packers? Will the water still drain away? Thanks

Toe and heel is a method of adjusting a window that isn't fitting square. You need spacers or packers (same thing) under the pane to allow water to run out of the drain holes, and you want a spacer either side to centralise it, and it's up to you whether you fit them top and bottom as well. Keep the stickers all the same way, and it's normally to the inside.

Thanks for that. I thought there might have been something in the glass to tell which way the glass goes in.
