Do LED dimmer switches dim the LED as low as a halogen?

I have got 10 35w halogens in the kitchen on a dimmer. A couple have popped rercently so I thought Id try a couple of 'warm white' dimmable led jobbies:

They are 50W equivlents but Id thought Id see how they stacked up.

They are indeed a bit too bright next to the 35W halogens (which isnt a problem) and are whiter but not in any way cold and the difference is obviously more noticable as you dim when the halogens put out a nice candle like yellow.

They dont flicker and the dimmer was not led specific and I assume this is because there is still plenty of halogen load in the circuit.

The issue (and question) I do have is that they will only dim down to a certain level and then stay at that fairly bright level when the halogens go much dimmer.

Will getting one of the recommended dimmers help this? Even if I have a mixed load of halogens and leds?

There is lots of info out there but nothing that seems to talk about this scenario. If I need to get a dimmer and swap out the whole lot Ill have to start saving!

I know that a LED compatible dimmer with just LED's connected dim very well, and to a low level.

I would recommend changing the dimmer anyway, the electronic type have a soft start, so will prolong the life of halogen lamps too!
