I have a Plumb Center two channel programmer and its not "putting out current". Its been sitting around for months. Does it need a new internal battery of a big charge to activate its functions?
LCD functions are all there.

The internal battery is just to store settings and the time.

Do you mean it won't turn the boiler on?
Have you checked the fuse?
Have you tried it set to continuous?
If it works in continuous, the relays are dead.

Won't turn boiler on, but works with hot wire
Is that a fuse inside programmer of boiler's own ?
Does not work on continuous
Its just the programmer in question and nothing else, as it can hot wire

When you press the override button, or otherwise get it to apparently switch on or off, do you hear a little click? You should, and if you do then for it to be on both channels it does sound like a wiring fault.

If no small click then it's probably the programmer dud.

Could also be the connection between the front part of the thing and the backplate. Squeeze the forks together so they definitely grip the pins. (or similar)
