Hi all
Our kitchen is a single story extension and we would like to remove a 4 ft wide window and replace with 4ft wide french doors, does anyone know if we would need building regs. The window was put in by the previous owners and looks to have a more than adequate concrete lintel above, the lintel is exposed. The window overlooks our back garden.
Thanks
Nelliedee

You need approval for the fitting of the doors, but this can be done by a FENSA member who will self-certify the work, or you can apply for this yourself

You are not doing anything structural (unless you are widening the opening) so you don't need to apply for any approval in this respect, and the insertion of DPC to the reveals will be covered in the appplication to fit the doors

If you need to find a tradesperson to get your job done, please try our local search below, or if you are doing it yourself you can find suppliers local to you.

Select the supplier or trade you require, enter your location to begin your search.
