Do you go/have you been to the theatre?

At Les Mis' the audience were asked to turn their phones off and any found to be using them, for whatever reason, was told they would be escorted from the theatre. One wise guy shouted back, "What if someone calls me because of an emergency?" The announcer simply replied, "If you are so important that someone will ring you in an emergency sir, then I suggest you leave immediately and buy the DVD from the foyer to watch at your leisure." Massive round of applause from the audience.

When we took the granddaughter to see Frozen a bloke a few rows in front had to take his little one the toilet as it was approaching the interval. When he tried to come back in he was made to stand at the back as the lead was singing 'Let it Go!' and there was a spectacular dress change about to happen.
Don't know if anyone has ever seen Frozen but watch this link. If you don't want to watch it through, (and feel the build up), skip to about 3.20

I've sat for longer in theatres than I have in front of the tellyvideo. I must've seen Phantom 20x & Les Mis just as many. Did you duck for the bullets too???

A few years ago I just happened to mention to the current Mrs Lard that Rocky was touring & my gob was utterly smacked by learning that she'd never seen it live. So you had the sight of 2x 50somethings showing the young 'uns how to dress appropriately for the occasion.

If you ever get the chance Slava's Snow Show really floats my boat

We saw The 39 Steps adapted as a spoof, 3 or 4 actors & minimal props it was excellent

Out of Phantom and Les Mis, what's your favourite if you were forced to pick one?

I would like to see Phantom but can't stand high-pitched screeching in some of the songs. Got the CD in my car and when the screechy bits start I flip to the next track.

It's a fair enough comment, bits of it are like that.

Thank you for reminding me that we saw that in Halifax maybe 20 years back... it was a bit odd being in an audience almost surrounded by people in basques, stockings and high heels (both sexes). Rollocking good night's entertainment with massive audience participation, though!
Ha,ha! I went dressed in basque and fishnets but couldn't find size 12 high heels, so wore Docs.

I was due to go to The Vic in Newcastle-u-Lyme tomorrow (not Rocky Horror) but it's off as some of the cast have COVID.
