I don't think the question is whether they landed on the moon (fairly obvious they did), but whether they faked some or all of the photos. After all, they seem to be a mixture of blurry ones that you'd expect from a little box strapped to your chest, and perfectly composed art pieces. Trouble is if you did land on the moon and it was facing the sun, you would not have seen any stars due to brightness and sunshine, may be if they had landed on the dark side of the moon, Pink Floyd were the first to land on the Dark side of the moon before Apollo astronauts.

I find it astonishing that they took the risks they did. It was technically incredibly challenging. Yes they had the technology to do it, but the issue really is could they get all the system working reliably enough that the entire mission would succeed. That they succeeded is a testament to American engineering and processes. The cancelled the last one because the risk was seen as too high given the rewards. Look at the Russian moon programme, and huge numbers of people died when several launchers exploded.

Take off from here is very clinical weather etc

Engineering here is hit and miss break downs, fueling blah blah



So lets get this right we are going to take off in perfect conditions, fly through bands of radition, get to and from A-B in the perfect flight lines, land and take off again in perfect conditions, fly back without a problem just seems they were very very very lucky to do all this specially 50 years ago lol
