Hi all,

I have received an offer from an Architectural Technician to produce plans for a proposed rear dormer loft conversion, on a 1930s bungalow. The offer includes:
- working drawings
- structural calcs (to be done by SE)
- written specification
- Building Refs submission, including amendments required

This looks comprehensive but do I need anything else before I can get builders to price it?

For the record the quote was about £1,100, including engineer's calcs.

Many thanks,

Firenze

Seems a very reasonable price, so make sure you reference them first.

AS for builders, that would be enough information for them to price from plus a site visit.

Price sounds about right provided the working drawings are actually a proper set of detailed plans, sections and a set of details and have notes on the details.

If the drawing you'll end up with is just 1 A1 sheet with a simple plan and a simple section and half the sheet taken up with a standard set of notes it ain't so good.
