I wonder if anyone can help. I have quite a large wll to finnish plaster on my own. Does anyone out there know how to stop the plaster setting so quicky, is there anything I can add to it? I have heard that Lime Putty works, but not sure what the finish will be like or how long it gives you. Would like to hear some thoughts....... I am jst skimming with finnish plaster.
Is the info re this problem somewhere els on this site??????? If not then over 60 years ago our plasterer teacher used retarder when we were making cornices ot of white plaster. These days it's called Extra Time...The lady at the one stop plaster shop said you can have a cup of tea or coffee while you wait for the plaster to set enough to trowel off!!!!!!! Is it that good I asked ? She said all those in the know swearby it...... I told her that many a time the bloody finish wou;ld not go off quick enough and she said you can cure that with accellerator!!!!!!!!!!
