Does this look right to you?

A local plumber fitted a new Worcester Bosch condensing boiler about 4 years ago.
He fitted the flue as shown in the picture.
I recently removed the basket guard to replace it as it had gone rusty. (Why aren't they all made of stainless steel?)
Should the flue outlet be pointing up in the air?
Will rainwater go inside and cause problems?
Should I turn it so it is angled downwards?

the flue is fine but you need a condensing boiler flue terminal guard, the one you have is a standard efficiency terminal guard hence the staining on the wall.

Its fine. If a small amount of rainwater gets in it will run down through the boiler with the condensate. Replace the chip basket if the terminal position requires it but nothing else to worry about.

It's a plume diverter. It's supposed to point upwards.

The only thing wrong with that flue is the boiler it's connected to
