Hi i previously asked a question about "boiler lockout" i think i have sorted that problem as i found a leak on the heating flow pipe tightened it slightly seems ok also increased bar pressure.
I also asked about micro switch and was told which one it was. I contacted a boiler spares stockist and purchased the micro switch it looks completly diffrent from the one fitted, the one fitted is block shaped this one is smaller and rounded its part no is "S801189" fl/switch+3 cables cpl,
when conected it feels loose it moves from side to side and up and down the retaining clip is in place there appears to be only one way of fitting it.
However the original micro switch part no 801199 gc no e27185 fits perfectly a nice tight fit.
I contacted the boiler place and was told that the part is correct and suppercedes the older type.
Also when i connect the new switch and then open the taps nothing registers if i do this with the old switch as soon as i open the tap in the bathroom it lights up on the console. however its a bit intermittent (which is why it was suggested i replace it)
Can i still purchase the older switch?
Am i doing something wrong when connecting the new switch?
Have i been sold the right switch?
any advice...
The boiler is a glow worm compact e100.
thank you
