I found this online and they are saying suitable for 48v DC
would using 12v cause any problems
I did a quick test on a 6amp breaker today using 12v DC it tripped out at around 8 amps ?

No. 48 will be a maximum.

They work by heat - imagine a fuse.
Not possible to be able to carry 6A with no damage and then trip on 6.1A.

MCBs should not trip at up to 1.13 times their rating and
in 60 minutes at 1.45 times their rating.
Above that progressively quicker until
for B type - in 0.1 seconds at 5 times their rating.
