Don't know who to consult first.

I'm a little new to this and only bought my new flat within the last few months, so I'm hoping that somebody can point me in the right direction.

My problem is relating to my dividing wall between my bathroom and hall way. When I moved in there was no problems but over time we have noticed that the hallway side of the wall feels quite wet and the paint raising off the wall. This has become quite a problem since patches of mould are now appearing.

I have a friend who does a little DIY around his house and he thinks that the original owner did not use waterproof grouting and did not seal the shower correctly.

Could somebody please help since my kitchen is on the other wall and I can now see patches appearing on that wall.

What's the wall made of? Brick? breeze? timber? toast?

Grout is largely water resistant, and will not permit the extent of water as you describe, through it during normal showering.

Look for other causes

Or post some images of both sides of the wall
