Hello all,

After a bit of advice, builder has left a gap between wooden door frame and brickwork (1.5 cm or so width - across the length of the top of the frame, not too deep).

Assume mortar would be OK to plug gap ?

Thanks,

Exterior/interior? Cavity wall or single skin? Fire door? Got a photo? If you want a response provide more info.

To the OP. Just stuff some mineral wool (Rockwool) in the gap pushed back in from the face - that's what you do on fire door frames. If it's being plastered the plaster will fill the gap, even if it's not the architrave will cover it (and if you are still concerned about draughts, caulk in the architrave with decorator's caulk). Simple, really

OK, sorry to have wasted your time, ask for a refund.
Can I have my money back, too, please?

I see the door has a closer on it.

Is it a fire door?

If the door is 1.5 metres wide I suppose it must be in an industrial building.
