I've demolished the back door/end wall of a utility room on side of house (back area of single skin flat roof garage.)
Now ready to rebuild as single skin with a wide, 90cm UPVC door which is full length glazed and obviously quite a weight.
I think this will be strong enough as the hinge side wall will be 1 brick length before a right angle wall forming an outside toilet.
Can anyone suggest if block or brick would be the stronger option.
Also the door frame is higher than the ceiling so will have to cut the end joist and make some kind of wood lintel. I know it sounds botched but will need the width with this door.
Thanks for any help.
