Door handle replacement

I am trying to replace this door handle, something that I have done several times around the house with no issues. But this evening I am having a complete nightmare and I cannot get the door handle off the door.

Please see attached pictures. Can anybody suggest what to try next?

In your second photo you can see a grub screw under the handle, securing the handle to the bar which goes through the door. Loosen the grub screw with an Allen key to remove the handle.
