Dot and dab with bonding

Quick question,

Can you attach plaster boards via dot and dab using bonding coat rather than plasterboard adhesive?

You can but it will probably fail so use the proper stuff for the job.(Horses for courses)

as roy says - if it was a small patch or reveal, okay ,but not a wall
