Double level garden, help!

Hi there, the left side of my garden is one level and the right side is about 10-15 cm higher than the left, I want to keep my garden this way (one side higher than the other) how would I prepare the ground so I could lay a patio ? Would I just dig the entire area to the same level or something else ?
