Hi

Need to upgrade our bedroom radiator from a single to a double but don't want the extra expense (budgets run over following decoration) of getting the copper pipes moved to fit the new double rad's valve location (center of the rad).

Do you know of any stockists that do double rads with the valve location in line with the back rad chamber? ie in the same location as a single rad valve?

Thanks for your help

it is usually possible to "bend" the pipe forward to the new position depending on how the pipe is fitted, you might ned to drop the height about 1" or so to accomodate being brought forward dropping the height a bit, but quite often there is enough pipe to accomodate, (just be gentle bending the pipe forward ;) )

Can see the pipe kinking or even snapping if pipe is thin wall :D

Chas, why do you need a double panel radiator?

Last couple of winters, since we moved in, the rooms been too cool with the single. Easy fix.

?
Not if it`s got a bending spring down it ;) But that means draining down rather than just turning off rad valves  If it`s a wooden floor - cut the hole bigger , the pipe will then usually move a bit

Nige, are you saying thin wall pipe will bend and not snap with spring in it?

Chas, might just be a case of system is out of balance thus your radiator not getting required amount of water. If that is the case, a double panel wil not fare any better!
