Hello guys - I'm converting an old conservatory to a brick extension.

I wanted to cost the walls & the roof separately.

What unit cost should I be using to estimate how much a double skinned brick & block (inc. insulation) wall would cost me either £/m2 or total job (approx. 18m2)

Guess there's a few variations - either the £m2 total cost or brickie daily rate.
I'm hearing a brickie does about 600 bricks/d - which equates to around 5m2 ? Thus about 3-4 days (inc block work ?)

Location SE (but outside Lond)

Thanks Dave

you can work out materials, 65 bricks /sq metre + wastage %

blocks 10 per square metre

add on cement and sand, insulation, ties etc

for a small extension, I would ignore bricks per day rates and see if you can get an idea of how many days itll be from a brickie -Id hazard a guess at a weeks work, but Im not a bricklayer.

It would be helpful to know the brick type and bond, access, pointing style.

Assuming that you're replacing the existing foundations too ?. They will be suitable for a conservatory but not for a full on brick extension.
