Good evening all,

Doing a bit of decorating and have pulled down the recessed lights in the kitchen. The thin foam gaskets/sealing rings (image attached) between the downlight and the artex pattered ceiling are around 9 years old and have deteriated somewhat.

It seems most new downlight have them included, but I cannot, for the life of me, find any replacements on thier own in the UK.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Do I really need them?

Cheers

You can buy sheets of either foam or silicone then cut yourself to size.

The FDA spec is heat resistant so this silicone will do it..
That's what I'd do...

Maybe lookup the foam to match if you prefer.

Op mentioned UK supplier. All I could find was China or buy materials and make yourself

@jj4091 thanks, I had seen these but they are metal and nearly the same price as a new fitting.

If the textured ceiling is not smooth and holding off the metal bezzle then id quess the gaskets were not doing much anyway
