Hi

We have some old downlights in a bedroom ceiling. We currently have 24v with transformers and I want to replace with mains volt LED. Is there a preferred brand that won't break the bank but do the job?
Also, the existing cutout in one fitting has crumbled over the years and plain filler won't do the job, what's the best way to fix the problem? Close-up photo attached, any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Oversize downlight, no repair required.

What size was the original hole?

My normal tactic is to fit “tilt” downlights as they need bigger holes and don’t fit sealed led units - because when they go wrong you have to replace the whole unit which means taking them out of the ceiling AND further potential damage to the ceiling

Use c fix

Some make one from something like a soup can..
