downlights in bedroom

mrs want about 6 downlights in the bedroom i have some fire rated ones in mind but what i need to know is it ok to cover with loft insulation ?

Please note that installing downlights is notifiable to your local authority unless they come as a ready-wired CE certified set (which they wil not be).

But downlights, in a bedroom?. Good grief.

Not exactly romantic lighting. But seriously, 6 downlights = 300 watts. Existing light = 60watts. So that's 5 times as much energy to light the same room.

Shall I warn the polar bears that you are planning to melt their ice?
 
They can come and cool off under the columns of cold air falling out of the holes in the ceiling for most of the year.

LV downlights in a bedroom won't be notifiable.
 
Aren't all dowlighter installations notifiable regardless of location?
